So today we're going to be talking about Clay's upcoming Invisible Inc.,

0:31.3

a turn-based, tactical, stealth, rogue-like,

0:34.7

a description that makes me think we may need to start defining additional genres before I give myself an aneurysm.

0:40.3

But I'll turn it over to the Clay Gang here at the start.

So, fellows, what is Invisible Ink? And tell us a little bit about the design inspirations behind it.

0:51.3

Yeah, totally. Well, first of all, I mean, you can definitely, you can take roguelike and you can just keep saying like as many times as you want to describe the genre. Like the more times you say like, I think the more accurate it gets. But yeah, Visible Inc is like a tactical espionage game, is what we're kind of calling it right now. And that means that it's a game about being a spy. It's about being a spy in a turn-based corporate landscape. So there are these guards that are patrolling around. They take their turn, you take your turn. And it's a turn-based game, but it's also single-player, which is somewhat unusual. You know, a lot of turn-based games act as if they're two competing armies But in our game is very asymmetrical. So you are a stealthy spy. You're sneaking around these

on guards, you're taking out special enemies, you're hacking through mainframe devices,

1:45.0

like cameras to see what they're looking at.

1:47.0

And the game is all about kind of gathering information

1:50.0

to plan your next move.

1:52.0

And so we try to give the player a lot of really high-level

1:54.0

information concepts so they can see everything,

1:57.0

understand everything, and they're really trying to play

1:59.0

one or two moves ahead. Or you could even say, you know, three moves ahead, right?

2:03.6

Do you understand?
