Good evening. You're listening to Three Moves Ahead, and I'm your host Rob Zakney. With me tonight, unbelievably, is my regular panel. Welcome with us, the incredibly high, Bruce Garrick. Bruce, welcome to the show. Sorry. Is this the one where... This is the FIFA one that we're doing, right? Yeah, we're talking FIFA tonight. Next week is F1. We're actually just all Eurosports from here on out. So if you came here with strategy. No more strategy games. Thanks for the donations, guys. You're really bankrolling our, you know, we're taking over Operation Sports Patch. If you're moves ahead, now owned by EA. And you can pay for it by the season.

And that was, of course, Troy Goodfellow, who's about to pass out at any moment after being humiliated by Bruce.

0:45.3

I'm always humiliated by Bruce.

0:47.1

Bruce's mere existence humiliates me.

0:48.9

And we also play a game.

0:50.4

Yeah, true.

0:51.2

Sure.

0:51.4

And I'm really hoping that my early track picked up the tail end of that game because it was, it was something.

0:59.4

Wouldn't you agree? Julian Rabbit Murdoch.

1:01.2

I think that my energy level is somewhere right in between the middle of them, between the totally manic and the completely depressed.

1:09.8

We're going to have a rockin show.

1:15.6

And what game are we talking about, Mr. Zachny?

1:19.3

We are talking about Memoir 44, specifically Memoir 44 online, which just debuted on Steam.

1:25.6

You can play it for free, but the pricing structure is a little unusual.

1:29.4

We'll get to that later.

1:30.9

But first, I wanted to take everyone's temperature on what they think of the online version

1:35.6

of Memoir 44.

1:36.5

This is a board game we all know really well.

1:38.4

How's this translation?

1:40.2

Oh, it's great.

1:41.3

Best game ever.

1:43.6

Best game ever, really? It's one of the best games that has ever come out. It is a great translation of the board game, for sure. Although, I have to tell you, I've gotten so spoiled because I just, I want to play faster, right? All these freaking animations of dice rolling. I agree. Oh, you are so right. Cards flying around. Yes. You could play three games of Memoir 44 in the amount of time you play one. If they would just give you the option to skip all the animations. That's my only beef with the game. What I really would be the same if we didn't have the whole Fox Sports clanging your turn thing? Your turn. Yeah. And the robot. It should have more robots. Yeah, there are not nearly enough robots in Memoir 44. Curse Richard Borg in this historical accuracy. I can't believe there hasn't been an expansion, actually, that opens it up to, you know, 22nd century combat or something like that. I thought that was commanding colors. That would be ancients. Oh, it's the other way. That's fine. Whatever. Goal! No, but it's a great implementation of the game, right? And it's got good matchmaking, which is the thing that usually kills games like this. And there are actually people playing it, which is also something that usually kills games like this. There are a lot of people playing it.
