Summary

Let me preface this by defining what I mean by "archetype": a framework that works well for looking at certain patterns and traits. As far as I can tell, these three archetypes work together, and they're also three major archetypes men tend to fall for. Often unconsciously. What also happens is men can get stuck or fixated on one of them in a relationship, and this can lead to complications. This episode (sort of!) inspired by Jill Scott's I'm Not Afraid: https://youtu.be/yjDmpjuRUEc Did you enjoy the podcast? If so, please leave us a review on Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, or Podchaser. All right, team, welcome back to the man talk show.

0:12.6

Today we're going to do a little bit of a departure from what we've been talking about the last few weeks.

0:17.6

We are going to talk about the three feminine archetypes that most men are unconsciously

0:25.3

drawn to or maybe are consciously looking for. And these three feminine archetypes,

0:30.3

as far as I can tell, are what most men are looking for when they're looking for a long-term

0:36.4

partner, when they're looking for a wife.

0:38.1

It's some combination of these three things. Now, what can get challenging is when a man has

0:44.1

some type of wound with the feminine or wound with women, right, with his mother, etc., which we'll

0:49.2

talk about as we go along. So here is the first one. So the first one is the Madonna. And the Madonna is the archetype of

0:57.7

feminine virtue, the archetype of feminine nurturing, caring, caregiving. And in some forms,

1:05.7

the Madonna is the sort of archetype of the mother, right, of Gaia, not in the sense of like you wanting a mother

1:13.7

or mothering, but the essence that that mother embodies, right, nurturing, caregiving,

1:20.1

love, virtuousness, et cetera, right, unconditional love. What can happen is that a lot of men will get

1:26.5

caught. Let's just say you had a mother who

1:29.6

was absent or you had a mother who was hypercritical or maybe abusive in some capacity. Those men that

1:36.6

have grown up in that household might look for a woman who is of the Madonna archetype fully.

1:43.4

So she doesn't have these other two archetypes

1:45.5

that I'm about to talk about.

1:46.8

She just is really the embodiment of it.

1:49.3

And this is where a lot of guys get into trouble

1:51.3

because they don't bring their sexual energy to that person.

1:55.0

They might feel nurtured and caretaken by them.
