| 0:10.4 | is Chaplin Bradford. John Bradford was born in Manchester around 1510. |
| 0:17.0 | He was headed for a career as a clerk and he did very well. |
| 0:22.0 | In fact he served as a clerk for Henry the 8th and he |
| 0:25.9 | served in the inner temple. There he also studied law and there he also heard the preaching of the reformers. |

| 0:40.0 | In fact, he realized that he himself was not always such an honest clerk, and upon hearing the |
| 0:45.8 | gospel he sought, as Bishop Hugh Latimer said, quote, the restitution of stolen goods." |
| 0:53.0 | So we have a true testimony to his repentance. |
| 0:58.0 | Well, he left the inner temple, and he went to pursue an education at Cambridge. He wanted to become a minister |
| 1:06.7 | of God's Word. And he did. In 1551, Nicholas Ridley, who was the one who was martyred alongside of Bishop Latimer, and you might |
| 1:18.2 | remember the famous story of Latimer and Ridley being marty next to each other. |
| 1:23.4 | Well, Ridley at this time was the Bishop of London. |
| 1:26.3 | And he called John Bradford to join him there in London |
| 1:30.9 | and was part of a company of six royal chaplains so we can rightly call him |
| 1:37.2 | Chaplin Bradford. |
| 1:39.2 | He had this post for two years and as we've noticed the last two times together in 1553 King |
| 1:46.1 | Edward the six died and Mary came to the throne and like all of those reformers and all of those bishops and pastors John Bradford too was sent to the Tower of London. |
| 1:58.0 | His early imprisonment he shared a cell with Cranmer and Latimer and Ridley. |
