Melisandra and others have told us this quite a few times.

But generally they're speaking

supernaturally, right?

It's also true in the mundane literal sense, in a monarchy especially, even more so in

an unstable monarchy, being the child of a king comes with a certain measure of power. Potential power, shall we say, the kind of power that can do more harm to you than good,

or it can perhaps lead to bigger and better things.

It's really kind of a hard to predict and depending on circumstances and context type of situation.

But part of the reason it's a potential power is, well, for that power to matter,

you have to know you have it.

You have to know you have King's blood, right?

Not everybody does in this case.

With Robert Baratheans bastards, they definitely don't all know who their father is. In fact, the three that we're focusing on today, we have a nice range of options. One doesn't know. One does know. And one we're not entirely sure about. So that's interesting, too. Now, honestly, when I say Robert Baratheans bastards, I don't

really have to say that, do. I just need to say Barathean bastards and specify the timeline.

Because, I mean, Stannis and Renle, that's not their game, is it? And who else is going to have

Barathean bastards in this era? So that's interesting, right?

It's kind of the way they were written.

But of course, all Baratheans have some dragon in their ancestry, right?

That's mostly trivia, though, is it?
