Summary
WIthin the past couple weeks, Scottie Scheffler capped an amazing season on the PGA Tour by winning the Tour Championship and with it, the Fedex Cup and its giant pool of bonus money. In this episode, Mark, Lou, and Greg discuss how the Tour structures its season-ending playoff, with the pros and cons of determining a season-long champion using a playoff. Can significance for an event be created simply with money? Is there another format that might work better? And what are Greg's chances of the winning the Stanley Cup?

| 0:00.0 | I want to chat today to Lou and Greg in the house. Welcome, Lou and Greg. |
| 0:05.7 | So we've just in this timeline, as whenever you listen to this, the Tour Championships has just finished. |
| 0:11.4 | Well done, Scotty. But just the feeling of this year on the PJ Tour. So what the PJ Tour is still classed, I would say, as golf, as in TV, golf, pro |
| 0:25.2 | golf. I would say it still holds very much that mantle. As in what's happening there is what |
| 0:29.8 | we're today shaping our opinions on are then affected by the other tours. And I just want to get |
| 0:36.6 | your guys feel for how to year when, |
| 0:39.5 | certainly ending with the Tour Championship. The Tour Championship felt relatively flat to me. |
| 0:43.8 | I didn't really engage with it at all. I kind of don't care for it. I couldn't even explain to you |
| 0:49.5 | the format personally. I'm not the average watcher. So I'm an outlier, which I understand. True golf fans, I'm sure, could tell me ins and outs of all of it and I love in it. So I'm not judging that way. I'm more just say, I would put myself as a, it strangely in the PGA tour world, like a very casual watcher, you know, like I would say, I am about tennis. I might watch US Open and the Open, but I'm not watching every ATP event every week. And I don't know. It's just the people I do know who do watch a bit more golf or into golf, they didn't really engage with it. I asked them about it. They didn't really know. Some of them didn't watch, didn't really care for it that much. They also don't really know what's going on. |
| 1:29.0 | And it feels a little bit at the minute possibly that the golf season ends at the last major, |
| 1:33.0 | which is what July, is it now? |
| 1:34.5 | The last major ends in July. |
| 1:36.6 | And it ends. |
| 1:37.7 | And the tall championship has bolted on at the end. |
| 1:40.2 | And it doesn't seem to engage. |
| 1:41.7 | There seem to be more talk about the creator thing that they did to try and obviously |
| 1:47.0 | drive traffic to that event. |
| 1:49.5 | Created Classic. |
| 1:50.5 | Yeah, Created Classic, which is another podcast in itself that we could talk about at some |
| 1:54.1 | point if we want to. |
| 1:55.0 | I mean, I do think it's an interesting strategy bearing in mind you are talking about |
| 1:59.4 | one of your flagship events. |
