it's actually pointing to. And I don't think most people really understand what they're pointing to when they say be authentic

because it gets confusing very quickly.

What do I be authentic to?

Is it this feeling that's arising right now that's telling me I can't do something?

And we listen to that

because it's being authentic is it another part of me that's saying oh I can do this I'm

scared but I feel inspired to try do we follow that right it can be kind of messy

just like oh what am I what am I actually listening to? You know, one of the common

things that does tend to arise is we associate authenticity with a sense of our past self, a felt sense

of our past self or behaviors of our past self. And often when people think about us being

authentic, their sense of us being

authentic is how they've perceived us in the past. Wouldn't you agree? You know, when you think of maybe

how your family might perceive you being authentic, is it the person that you're growing into,

or is it the person that they're most familiar with

and have known for years?

And sometimes the two are aligned.
