Hopefully the previous episode we did changed your thinking in a tiny way. Welcome back to it. Welcome back to the grind.

Glad to be here. Happy Warrior as well.

If you're new to the show, the point of us being here is that the news is causing too much

anxiety and everyone's doom scrolling and just bombarded with awful news all the time. And I don't

want to do that. So what we do is we take the news of the day

because we also don't want to check out. So we want to be engaged. We want to know what the news of the

day is. Then we break it down, lament it, lament the brokenness, which is an important part of the

process, then provide some historical perspective because there's nothing new under the sun and then some

biblical truth to go along with it and then hopefully all that anxiety will wash away.

So that's the mission and I'm glad you're here.

So now that we've done all the giving of thanks, let's buy more stuff.

That's the story of the day.

Americans spent $9.1 billion online on Black Friday.

This is online. I guess they don't, no more stories of people lining up at midnight outside

of stores, are there? Remember that? Remember people literally camping outside and people trampling over each

other for the last tickle me Elmo? It's like, I'm going to rip your hair out, lady, for that tickle me

elbow. I guess we don't do that anymore. Not because we're better people, but because we're doing

all of our shopping on our couch,

on our phones now. People still spending money. That was just Friday. When I first heard that number 9.12, I just assumed that was like, I don't know, like, see, Black Friday is not even a day anymore. It's, it lasts all month. It's more of an idea now, isn't it? So I just thought that's what like Black Friday, 9.12 billion for the last couple of weeks.

It was just the day.

One day, $9 billion.
