Hi, Paul.

Hi, Steph. Thank you for having me.

So Dr. Webster, your background is very interesting.

So before we get started with our topic today, why don't you tell us a little bit about what you do?

Sure. I'm a lecturer in medieval history at Cardiff University here in the UK. And I teach various things and research various things relating to kingship and religion in the Middle Ages, including the reign of King John and the relationship between royalty and the cult of St Thomas Beckett.

And alongside that at Cardiff, I run an adult learner's progression pathway.

It's called Exploring the Past.

And it provides a route that allows mature students, adult learners returning to study with a route to coming back into study

and to going on to degrees

in history, archaeology, and religion or combinations of those subjects at Cardiff.

What a fun job you have. I love it. Thank you so much. So you're here today with us to go

a little bit farther back in history than the Tudor era, a little further, more kind of more

medieval during Henry the second's reign. And if you know me, you know that although I don't like

to play favorites, if we ever mentioned the Empress Matilda or Eleanor Bakritain, kind of my ears

start to perk up and I'm committed.
