Good morning everyone and welcome back to another morning with the masters where we devoted ourselves to the Lord daily with you. Good morning you guys. A special good morning as it's the last

0:21.1

Steve of the year. Crazy. You believe that if you guys have been with us since year one you will have listened to 730 devotionals. Wow. And we there is one or 730 or it's three. Who cares? I don't know. Yes. We are so thankful for you that you are willing to commit yourself to the Lord with us. We love doing life with you all and especially something so so meaningful as this. So without further ado, we're back in the thigh Bible and towards you and take it from here. Let's do it. You guys.

0:51.1

Today's devotional is titled humble prayers and we're reading out of second Chronicles 714 and it says this. Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways. I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. The love letter from God says, beloved child, you are my child.

1:20.1

And I love to answer you. There is great power and humility and prayer. Real change starts in your heart permeates your home and then echoes throughout the world. You have the ability to lift up anything in prayer and I will hear you. You also have the gift of repentance. And in one prayer you can make yourself right with me. I will forgive you and that blessing will affect not only you.

1:50.1

But also the people around you. Don't ever give into the hopelessness or sin. I have given you the power to live above such things. Walk with me, bring everything to me in prayer and watch my mighty hand move in your life. Love your Heavenly Father.

2:10.1

The reflection says, we tend to blame everything and everyone in this world for the condition that we are in. But our first response must instead be to humble ourselves and pray. According to God's promise, he will then heal the land in which his children live, starting with their own hearts. The treasure of truth says, our humility and prayer invite God's forgiveness and restoration.

2:40.1

Yes, this is very timely. I'm glad you chose this one for right now because for many of us, you know, this is a chance at a new beginning, new year, new me. I get to reconsider the way I lived. I get to inspect the previous year and decide what I want to be different.

2:58.1

Whether it's health goals, it's education, it's career, it's relational, it's finance, whatever it may be, we get to inspect how the year went and now we're going to project those feelings onto the next year.

3:11.1

And we need to not prioritize any of that above our spiritual walk for this past year. And this can be a great chance to us to evaluate like, okay, where did my spiritual life lack this past year? Where did I feel disconnected from God?

3:30.1

And to be honest with you, from a lot of the comments I see in the messages that we get, a lot of people do struggle with unanswered prayer.

3:36.1

A lot of people struggle with feeling that God isn't hearing them or God isn't there for them. And of course, there's a smorgasbord of other things.

3:43.1

But I know that that's a big common denominator that we see popping up. And what a great, kind of a gut check for lack of a better phrase that this devotional reminds us is, is that when that scripture told us that Tory read, actually, can you read that part about the wicked ways real quick?

4:02.1

It says, then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways.

4:11.1

Yeah, I love that. I mean, it's like, literally, humble yourself. But what does humble mean? A lot of us understand it as it's not thinking less of yourself, but it's thinking of yourself less.

4:21.1

And so it's obviously a lot of our prayers tend to involve ourselves and our own desires and how we can kind of build our own kingdom.

4:28.1

And it's seek his face, which translates to his presence, seek that relationship with him, that connection with him.

4:35.1

So that way, you know him on a deeper level where you would actually know what he would want for you as a good father.

4:42.1

Because when you think about a young child asking their parents for lack of a better phrase, a knife, right?

4:48.1

It's like, hey, you're a toddler. That's not good for you to have, right?

4:51.1

A good father is not going to give a bad gift to their child. And God's not going to do that.

4:56.1

But for us, things can get kind of murky because we see good things. And we're like, well, God, why are you not giving me this good thing?

5:03.1

Like, where are you on it? But then when it says turn from your wicked ways, I struggle with that part.
