Houston, man, sentenced to eight and a half years in federal prison after pleading guilty

to a PPP loan scam. At the time of his PPP loan fraud, the man was on supervised release

for a different wire fraud conviction. He used the money on private jet travel, real estate,

jewelry, guns, and luxury vehicles.

Jewelry is probably in the top five of words that most people mispronounce.

There is a, there is a W before the L. It is Jewelry. Jewelry. I hear a lot of people pronounce it

Jewelry, J-U-L. I won't mention his name, but there was somebody who was in that business

in Houston who over the year would do his own commercials, and he would say come to his

place for jewelry. And I thought, man, I mean, I guess it probably didn't affect his expertise

or whatever else, but I just feel like if you're in jewelry, you should be able to pronounce

jewelry. If I, if I were to, well, that's a good question. But if I'm going to list the five words

that meet people most mispronounce, library. A lot of people don't know there's two hours in

library. They think it's my cousin, library, and it's not library, jewelry, ask, slash,

X is real, real common one. Let me think on that. 47 year old Scott Jackson Davis

pleaded guilty on May 26th last year to wire fraud. And on Friday, he was sentenced to eight

years and six months in federal prison, immediately followed by three years of supervised release.

According to court documents, Davis was on supervised release for a different wire fraud conviction

at the time of the PPP loan fraud. He'd only been out of prison for just over four months

when he began submitting fraudulent paycheck protection program applications.

In 2020, Davis received $3.3 million in PPP funds through three fraudulent loan applications. He

submitted to multiple financial institutions. He fabricated ownership of three businesses.
