| 0:57.0 | Well, I want to share with you an insight from an early church father named St. John Chrysostom. |
| 1:03.0 | And he was looking out at the pagan world in his day. |
| 1:06.0 | And he said, the number one reason that we see darkness in this world. |
| 1:11.3 | Why is there darkness in this world? |
| 1:12.7 | He says, it's because of Christians. |
| 1:14.8 | It's because of Christians who fail to be who they were meant to be, to become who they |
| 1:21.2 | are meant to become in Jesus Christ. |
| 1:23.3 | And he made this comment when reflecting on Matthews Gospel chapter 5, the same passage we're all going to be reflecting on this upcoming Sunday at Mass. |
| 1:31.3 | It's the mass reading from the sermon of the Mount when Jesus told the disciples, be salt to the earth, be light to this world. |
