The second section of Psalms, known as the Exodus Psalms, remind us that the God who redeemed us is still with us.

Did you know that sometimes while you're fighting on one front, the enemy sneaks around on the other side?

Or while you're winning a victory in one area, suddenly you find yourself struggling with something else.

That's the context of Psalm 60, where we've come in our study. You see, if you look at the little title for Psalm 60,

it says it's written to the chief musician. It is a Psalm of instruction, Mictam of David, to teach.

But it gives a historical context, a period in time when Joab had led Israel's

armies against one set of enemies and while he was gone, the enemies of Israel snuck around the

other side. They took advantage of his absence and they brought another attack. You know, you ever hear the old adage

when it rains, it pours. Sometimes you feel like you're fighting the enemy on the left hand and suddenly

he shows up on the right hand. Well, I want you to know that's just part of life. But I want you to know

a greater truth and it is this that God is able to take care of every enemy and every battle. That's really the emphasis

of Psalm 60. Let's walk through it. It begins this way. Oh, God. By the way, have you ever been

there where all you could do is just cry out, almost agroned to the Lord. Oh, God. I want you to know,

God hears the O of your heart. Oh, God, thou hast cast us know, God, here's the O of your heart.
