Keith Futcher was flipping through a glossy magazine when he landed on a stunning photo.

It really took him. He stopped and stared at it. The photo was taken somewhere in the desert, sand all around.

There's an orange tint to the scene that is common

with those desert scenes. In the foreground were some dusty, rough-looking riders standing by their motorcycles looking as if they've just ridden

halfway across the desert to get to this remote spot to watch the stunning African

sunrise. It was really taken by this. He was mesmerized by that

photo. And in that moment in Keith's mind, a plan began to hatch. He had to do

this. He had to experience what he saw in the photo. He had to become one of these guys in the photo.

Now, the hurdle was that Keith didn't even own a motorcycle. He had no riding experience, certainly no off-road

riding experience. He didn't even have a license to ride a motorcycle. So if he was going to do

this, ride a motorcycle through an African desert to catch a sunrise in the sand dunes. He

needed to first learn how to ride, get a license, then learn to ride off-road, and then

also to figure out what else he needed to know about riding in an African desert.

And there's one more little hurdle or maybe you could say ripple in the map.
