I invite you to open your Bibles to this morning's text which can be found in First

Thessalonians chapter 4 and I'll be reading verses 1 through 8.

Finally then brothers we ask and urge you in the Lord Jesus that as you received from us

how you ought to live and to please God just as you are doing that you do so more and more. For you know what

instructions we gave you through the Lord Jesus, for this is the will of God,

your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality,

that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, Not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not

know God. That no one transgress or wrong his brother in this manner because the Lord is an adventure in all these

things. As we told you beforehand and solemnly warned you, for God has not called

us for impurity but in holiness.

Therefore, whoever disregards this disregards not man,

but God who gives his Holy Spirit to you.

Oh, Father in Heaven, sexual purity is a weighty matter. There were tears after the first service of a mother burden for a son. And there will be tears again. And Lord, we want there to be tears

unto repentance, not unto death.

And so come, Lord, and by your spirit, brewed over the people downtown,

and brewed over the people here in Roseville and let there be

a weight of glory a high sense of expectation that as you have met us in song there and here you will meet us in the word.

The word of God is a hammer that breaks in pieces and the word of God is a healing bomb.

It's a sword and it's a sweetness.

God help me to deliver it in faithfulness to your written word so that it becomes a power

here and downtown. I ask this in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
