The text for this morning's message is coming from Luke chapter 9 verses

56 through 62 and they went on to another village, and as they were going along the road, someone said to him,

I'll follow you wherever you go.

And Jesus said to him, the foxes have holes, and the birds of the nest air have nests,

but the son of man has nowhere to lay his head.

And he said to another, follow me. But he said, permit me first to go and bury my father.

Jesus said to him, allow the dead to bury their own dead. But as for you, go and proclaim everywhere the kingdom of God.

And another also said, I will follow you, Lord.

But first permit me to say, And another also said, I will follow you Lord.

But first permit me to say goodbye to those at home.

But Jesus said to him, no one, after putting his hand to the plow

and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

Father in heaven, I pray now for your power to continue in this room and in the room downtown.

We have been singing as a congregation south and a congregation north.

And we are united now in prayer to say come.

And an anoint this moment in the word I pray.

Would you fill me with your Holy Spirit and enable me to be faithful to the word of God and to speak it with boldness and clarity as I ought to speak?

And on the other side where it's received, would you be giving eyes to see and hearts to bow?

Tastebuds of the heart to delight and enjoy your word and your self.

So Father, come now, downtown.

Come now, here in Roosevelt.

And with power, call people to yourself who are not believers and call people who are believers into missions.
