Well, here is a story that we all know today that I'm very excited to read to. It might be one of the most famous ASOP fables. Your kids know it. In fact, if your kids are with you today, why not play this for

0:21.5

them? It's a great one. It's extremely famous. We use this expression a lot in day-to-day life,

0:27.9

and it hails from Aesop 2,500 years ago. It is the story of the hair and the tortoise.

0:35.8

Okay, you already know what's coming, but I'm going to read it anyway, my friends,

0:39.2

and delve into the moral here. A hare one day ridiculed the short feet in slow pace of the tortoise.

0:46.3

The latter, laughing, said, though you be as swift as the wind, I will beat you in a race.

0:52.6

The hare, deeming her assertion to be simply impossible, assented

with a slow and steady pace straight to the end of the

1:13.3

1:19.4

by the wayside, fell fast asleep. At last, waking up and moving as fast as he could, he saw the

1:26.3

tortoise had reached the goal and was comfortably

1:29.4

dozing after her fatigue. My friends, are you the tortoise of the hair? I have to say that I feel

1:36.6

like I am a hair in most cases. I love quick action. I love to move rapidly. But that's actually

1:43.5

not what this is about, is it? I would say in modern terms,

1:47.6

the way that I interpret this is consistency. Notice how the tortoise never stops, beats speed,

1:56.8

beats natural talent, beats natural advantages when it comes to long-term success. This is good news,

2:04.2

my friends. You don't have to be super fit, super fast, super quick, super straight to business,

2:09.7

action, action, action. No. But you do need to be steady. In fact, overestimating your confidence and underestimating others too

2:22.4

can lead to unwanted outcomes, right? Falling asleep, letting this kind of thing happen. It's so
