And I'm here to tell you about James Acaster's perfect sounds, a new podcast, coming to BBC Sounds.

You may or may not know that in 2017 I had a lovely little breakdown

and in order to cope with that breakdown

I bought as much music that came out in the previous year, 2016, as possible.

People often say why was that the way that you chose to get through things?

In 2016 I'd noticed a lot of amazing music was being released.

Black Star by David Bowie.

Blondeigh by Francoigneed by Beyonce.

Blonde by Francocian by Francocin.

Hand me a towel I'm dirty dancing by myself gone off tabs of that acid form me a circle

watch my jagger.

And as the year was rounding off, for the first time I started paying attention to all the

best of lists at the end of the year.

And I was reading them, discovering new music.

I didn't listen to new music in about 10 years.

I've been very ignorant of new music since I stopped being in bands when I was 23

and started doing stand-up comedy.

And now suddenly I was delving back into it all again.
