Today, Mark discusses the benefits of free agency, what it is, how it works, and what it is. And now,

your host, Mark Sessler. Imagine being told that the company you work for today will serve as your workplace forevermore.

You can't find another job, you can't manage your own career, you can't impact your own destiny,

you're trapped. That's how pro football players felt from much of the sports history.

That is, until free agency, as we know it, launched in 1993. Free Agency has emerged

as a pivotal aspect of team building and player movement, but it also serves as a source of

empowerment for NFL players. If you believe you can make more money and or thrive as a player

with a different employer, you have the right to sign with a new team,

to write a new chapter to your career. Now, if the person listening to this is trapped in a dead-end

job, or perhaps just listless and twiddling their thumbs at a mundane branch of IBM out in the

New Jersey wilderness, you have that power too. You can stand up, gather your belongings, and find a new place of work.

Yes, you could learn something valuable from the NFL's free agency paradigm,

or just completely drift and vanish into the landscape with zero concept of how to address and solve your own problems.
