My grandfather once told me, I don't go to the doctor, and I don't remember whether it was in the context of me asking the question, so what's the secret to your longevity? I can't imagine that I would have asked that

question, but I can't imagine that we were talking about his many, many years. He lived

to be 98 and a half. And in the context of a kind of a natural conversation, he mentioned, I don't go to the doctor.

And again, this was in the context of living a long time.

I wish I had had the awareness, the foresight, the insight to press into that, to ask some follow-up questions.

So what do you mean? You don't go to the doctor.

Literally, you don't go to the doctor? Or you don't go to the doctor or is it a mindset of I don't go to the doctor

unless I absolutely have to. Because the reality is he did go to a doctor. I was aware of that.

But I was also aware of this. When he told me that, he had never spent a night in the hospital.

In fact, he was 97 years old when he spent his first night in the hospital.

It's pretty amazing.

I share my grandfather's feelings about going to the doctor.
