Today's episode, we are diving into the topic of livestock hurting dogs.

Now, you might not have livestock yet, but if you plan on having livestock, I highly recommend that

you listen to this episode.

I also think from a historical standpoint and understanding how hurting instincts and how

hurting has been used historically is also something that's really important. A lot of our modern agriculture,

when we look at it, we're obviously using modern aspects, hence modern agriculture. And we are

talking about modern homesteading. But it's marrying the best parts of historical methods of

homesteading in those traditional skill sets using the traditional methods and putting

kind of the best of the best of the best of the modern world with the best of the historical.

And when we look at modern agriculture, especially when we're talking about beef cattle and those

types of things, I think it's really important that we look at how historically

this different species were used in order to help get the management done.

And I think that's something in this day and age now, full disclosure, we do have a four-wheeler

and I do use that. but oftentimes we see a lot of

our modern ranching and modern farming and modern agriculture where we're using a lot of the modern

things that we don't lose the knowledge and the know-how of using some of these historical methods

and honestly when you look at a

hurting dog versus a piece of equipment, yes, there is a lifespan on dogs, right? There's also

a lifespan on equipment. But there is something special about having a bond with another living

animal. In this case, when we're talking about the herding dogs.
