I want to share with you something today that I used to think was a flaw that now I've realized

is a real asset and it's thinking for yourself.

Maybe if you're a child of divorce parents like I am,

you'll see of course there are two sides.

Maybe early in your life you you receive that right

one person's the enemy or the other person's the enemy often we see people side with one

parent and it can be hard no one is intending to screw anybody up. But look, I mean, we can feel loyal, we can feel indebted, we can almost take on the emotions of other people and then just ally ourselves with whoever might need us the most.

And what's interesting was my parents did this, right?

The other was the enemy.

There was a lot of vitriol, a lot of court cases, a lot of dramatic things that happened.

And part of me, even when I was young could still see both sides.

In a way it was almost harder because I wasn't resolute in one way of being.

It wasn't, this is right, that's wrong, she's wrong, she's wrong, he this is right that's wrong she's right he's wrong he's right

she's wrong it was I can understand how this sucks for this person I can understand

how that that person is also suffering I can see many sides. I can see many sides. I remember even growing up right in the classroom,

you know going to lots of different schools and having people go oh that person's

gross or that person's cool or that's really cool or that you know that that's and

this is everything that's awful and being able to go, hmm, I can really see it from both sides.

In the moment it made me think, gosh, why can't I just commit to something?

Why can't I just be clear? Why can't I just have it all figured out like everybody else.

Maybe that's you too.
