You know, what I'm going to talk about today is not the hottest thing in Wall Street.

It's probably not the most popular subject. In fact, probably the least popular subject.

But as part of the text, as we've been going through this series, I cannot short shift the Word of God

and just only tell you those things that you like and I like, but we have to preach the whole

council of God.

So I hope then I pray that despite of the fact that I'm talking about death and dying, that

you'll be inspired to live your life for Christ.

Because to live by faith and walk by faith is great, but to die in faith is superior.

To leave a legacy is fine, but to leave a spiritual legacy for the sake of Christ is superior.

For to pass on a good reputation is very good, but to pass on the evidence of faith is superior.

Someone said that God is glorified, that God is honored when his people leave the world

with their flags, flying, full mast. And I want to say amen to that. But death is a

very touchy subject. It's a very emotional subject. Death is fearful to many people.

It really is. The subject of death is negative. As a matter of fact, this generation of preachers

today, this generation of writers today

have been so influenced by the secular mindset and by the secular culture in thinking that your

best life is here and now, that this life is all that really matter, that we must cling to

this life at any cost, and for as long as we

can, many a pulpit today reflecting cultural thinking on the subject instead of biblical

thinking and biblical teaching. Many Christians have been impacted by pagan worldview instead of biblical worldview, pagan world view

that says that we can prolong this life, a pagan world view that says that we can expand this life span of hours,

that we can actually postpone the inevitable.
