Hi, and welcome to Prophecy Watchers. I'm Gary Stearman. We have a special guest for you today. His name is Alan De Deio. Unusual name, Alan, welcome to... I can't believe I'm here. Thank you so much for having it. It's great to have you here. Alan De Deio has written a book with a very catchy title.

And not only is it catchy, it is timely.

The title of the book is, they lied to you about the rapture.

Now that raises a question.

Who are these people called They're called they.

Who are they and what did they lie about?

You know, it's become, I think, cyclical or seasonal that mocking the rapture, every 15 years or so, becomes a fad.

And after 20 years of studying this subject, I just saw so many people arrogantly attacking the subject that I wanted to answer those questions.

But first, the main people who were lying about the rapture, someone said that the greatest

enemies to the Bible are its exponents, not necessarily its opponents.

Some people who say they're on your side don't necessarily present the case very well.

And I noticed a lot of people who are passionate about the rapture often presented in a way that isn't helpful in the discussion, where they have a fearful eschatology, where they're bearing their head in the sand, and just get me out of here, Jesus. Not that we're not excited, not that we're not saying, Maranatha, our Lord, come, but it's very fear-based.

So the first thing I wanted to do was address that lie, that the rapture creates a fear-based

eschatology, and then of course that led into a lot of the other lies.

And, and by the way, that's a great point which we need to pursue.

But the fascinating thing to me is that the conversation that Alan and I are having is very, very timely.

Society has suddenly, and by the way, all aspects of society seem to have become conscious that, hey, there's something called the rapture of the church.

And somebody, you can't believe that stuff.

Somebody else says, you know, I've been thinking about this,

and it looks an awful lot like what's happening today.

Yes.

And we have a lot of books coming out.
