Okay, open your Bibles to Romans, and we're going to talk about Romans as a statement

concerning salvation in general and the plan of salvation for the entire church in particular.

Romans chapter 1, Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ called to be an apostle separated under the gospel of God,

which he had promised before by his prophets in the Holy Scriptures concerning his son, Jesus, Our Lord,

which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the

Spirit of Holiness by the resurrection from the dead.

By whom we have received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith among all nations

for His name.

Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ or called to belong to Jesus Christ those six verses

basically are the salutation and the salutation of this book is written to Romans who are in deep

Little review, Romans is a book of transition.

It takes an individual under the judgment of God and transitions him to the point that not only is he not under the judgment of God, but he is steadily growing in the faith

and becoming more mature and through a process and over a period of time, he is converted

from someone who had very little knowledge and very little self-control to someone who is

dedicated to the work of the Lord. So it's a book of transition on the individual level.

Acts, by contrast, is a book of transition historically.

And we're going to be referring back and forth to Acts and Romans a little bit as we go along.
