Hello listeners this is Politico's nerdcast I'm Scott Bland your host.

This week on the nerd cast the president will sign a budget that gives him a little

bit of wall money but much less than he wanted.

So he's going to declare a national emergency so that he can move forward with that wall.

We know all this because Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell just minutes ago told us so from the

Senate floor.

It means that the first big conflict between President Trump and Congressional Democrats is just about at a close.

So what did we learn from this first big fight after Democrats took back the House?

Plus, the number of women in the 2020 field continues to swell,

and the Trump re-election campaign is starting to zero in on a few of them.
