Hello, just after we'd published the last episode of Newscast,

we got the news that Dame Deborah James had died.

This was a couple of weeks after she'd announced

that she'd gone back to her parents' house

because she was going to stop receiving treatment for bowel cancer.

And her big old journey with that disease was the subject of her podcast,

You, Me and the Big Sea, which made her really famous, really respected, helped a lot of people

deal with a very difficult issue.

And, yeah, in the last few days of her life,

she became a dame when Prince William turned up to give her an honour.

And her Bowel Babe Fund, because that was her name on social media,

has raised millions and millions and millions of pounds.

So what amazing.

I hate to say the word legacy,

but I suppose it is a legacy.

The last time we heard from Debs

was when she recorded an episode of the podcast

from her parents' home

when she talked about how she was feeling at that point.

I suppose that's it from me.

I can't believe it.
