Brian, we just wrapped up our post-spring top 25 on the Irish Breakdown podcast, brought to by our friends over at Fanduel.

And now we're going to get into a little bit of a different discussion before we dive into the mailbag to take us home today.

And the simple question is, who are the real title contenders amongst this?

And this is room for debate.

In previous years, there have been, you know, it's kind of just two teams above the rest.

You know, in other years, it's like, hey, the field's pretty open.

And I think that this year in college football, it's leaning a little bit more towards the latter.

I think that there is a handful of championship contenders this year.

And we could talk about to varying degrees,

because the lower we get on the list, the more questions that I need answered when we talk title contenders.

But I don't think that this is a year in college football where there's just two teams, three teams.

I don't think that there's one team head and shoulders above everybody else. It's just

primed and in a prime position to go win a national title. So I think that's really interesting.

I'm looking forward to this discussion, man, because I think there's a lot of title contenders

this year in college football.

Agree, Treb. And before we dive into those specific teams, here's a difference. I think you could argue that if we compared the number of teams that are contenders this year, compared to the number of teams that were last year, my initial thought was there's more contenders this year.

And I took a step back and I thought to myself, you know what? I don't know that I agree with that

sentiment. I think there might have been more contenders last year, but here's the difference.

Last year, there were more contenders because I didn't think there were any separators.

There was, it was more about, there's more teams because the top teams aren't as good as they've been in the past.

I just got done. I guess I don't know that I'd call it a rant. It's a little bit of a rant as to why

fans are disrespecting Indiana and that last year's team was legitimately good and clearly the
