This is Jonah Goldberg host to the Remnant podcast brought to you by the Dispatch and

It's been too long since we had a friend of the podcast, a friend of mine,

colleague of mine, kind of remnant all-star, Ken Pollack from the American

Enterprise Institute where he's a senior fellow and he has worked in many positions in government, sometimes with three letter abbreviations to them.

And he has written many impressive and wonderful books on, particularly on stuff about Iran and the Middle East and given

the news of late

it just sort of felt weird not to have them back on so Ken welcome back. Thank you so much shown. It's great to be back. So I mean I I no one can see this because this is a podcast but this is my list of questions.

But why don't we just sort of start with the news of the week, which is the

President of Iran, basically the number two guy underneath the Supreme Leader and the foreign minister.

No one, I mean like this whole, this is, this helicopter crash is a great reminder.

I once gave a speech at World Forum, the AI AI thing and I got to fly down with the

Cheney's and oh gosh very famous economist I don't want to out anybody else and it

occurred to me that you never want to be on a aircraft that crashes
