What did you do? What did you blog that was required, that required so many words that I had to keep a tab open for the entire day?

I wrote about how SB Nation and Vox Media are profiting off a business model that exploits workers who staff the 319 team sites that are under the SB Nation umbrella.

So all of these team sites have a site manager and a bunch of contributors, and most of them are paid little or no money at

all.

But they put out this content and then SB Nation and Vox Media sell ads on all of these sites

and make a lot of money off these people who are not seeing any return on their work.

Wow.

Sounds like capitalism. Sounds like journalism. What's a big deal? Why should I care?

It does sound like journalism. It's all of journalism is, as shitty as we have discussed at length.

But what makes this, what makes this different is that SB Nation and Vox Media told me directly when I interviewed

them that it is Vox Media policy that everyone who contributes to a Vox Media site is compensated

for their work.
