The New Beverly Cinema presents the Pure Cinema Podcast. My name's Brian Sauer. I'm joined as always by the delightful Mr. Elric Kane. And Mr. Kane, what are we doing this round? This has now become sort of a series that you had the idea for, and I think it's a cool idea.

It'll be a short-lived series because we can, maximum will do as well more of them.

But we started in the year 2000, where we did, you know, we thought about it being 25 years ago.

It felt like a big deal.

It felt like 10 years ago. We counted

down our top 10, each personal top tens from that year, 2000, and then we did an additional,

in that case, we did three more new to us films. In this case, we are going back another 25

years and it just completely burns my brain to the

ground to think, 1975, this year, all these movies are 50 years old, which is wild, because

one thing I really noticed is modern cinema, what we think of as modern cinema right now.

A lot of it's being defined, I think, in this, from some of the movies in this year,

which I find very fascinating to think that 50 years on, they still feel pretty fresh and new.

So, yeah, we're going back 50 years. We are going to count down our top personal top tens from 50 years ago,

and then five new to us movies. So not necessarily movies we love, just interesting movies to talk about,

five new films. It should be, yeah, should be a lot in there. I hear you're a low under the weather,

though. Yeah, yeah, I'm just getting over, well, in the middle of something, but it's all good.

Man, the show must go on, man. The show must go on.

Somebody's going to listen to this 25 years later. I'll be like, hey, I hope you got over that cold.

Yeah, yeah, definitely.

No, it's all good.

This is a super fun topic and a really fun year to revisit.
