Summary

I call this time of year "the slippery slope." Once Halloween is over, there is unabashed Christmas and winter holiday advertising in stores and in the media. Yes, I know there is some advertising before Halloween, but before Halloween they try to sneak it to us, as if really ashamed to be doing it, but just can't help themselves. Post Halloween we get the real deal snowmen and elves and wrapped packages galore. Most folks I know try to resist it for a few more weeks, but as any parent of school age kids knows, this is indeed the slippery slope to the winter holidays. Like it or not, plans need to be made, shopping for necessities becomes unbearably crowded, and everyone's life seems to be busier than usual. I always wonder who are these people filling up the grocery store and don't they shop for food the rest of the year?

Despite the slippery slope, in episode 75 Gayle and I get back to basics with our regular segments and a short discussion about snags and repair in your knitted garments. 0:27.8	today. I'm Gail. And I'm Charlene. And what are you wearing? I am wearing my Nanuk
0:34.2	cardigan by Heidi Kiermeyer. I knit this just a little over a year ago back in
0:40.3	September of 2013. I knit mine in Dream in Color classy in the purple rain color way, which
0:48.8	is perfect name for this. Yes. It's a very, very dark, like black over dyed purple. Yeah, that's a good way to describe it. And it's a sweater that I love every time I pull it out, but I don't wear it enough. It's really cute. It's really cute. And I don't know why, like I said, I don't wear it enough. I think it's... Well, it hasn't been cool enough for us to wear it around here.

1:14.6	Because it's not exactly, it's not really a winter sweater style-wise because it's open fronts and you can't bundle it up against the cold really well.
