I'm Ashfin. I'm on the phone with Brian. And today we're going to be talking about the

2020 horror film, The Wretched, written and directed by Brett and Drew Pierce, starring John

Paul Howard, Piper Corta, Zara Mahler, and Kevin Bigley. This is a movie about a young

adolescent who suspects his neighbor is a witch.

Brian, I think this movie came out right at the start of the pandemic, correct?

Yeah, I think it was released May 1st, 2020.

Oh, you know, that's really weird.

I thought movie theaters were kind of shut down by May 1st.

It was pretty much drive, almost exclusively drive-ins from what I understand.

Oh, okay, okay.

Got it.

That makes sense.

And then I think because of that, it looks like it's the first movie since Avatar to lead the box office for six weeks.

Yeah, six weekends in a row.

Isn't that crazy?
