We realize that here as we begin to talk about the answers, like the solutions,

what do we do to overcome the world, what we do to detox

from it, to become substantive people. We don't want to rush that. So this is actually going to be a two-part

conversation. We're going to start it today, but we actually going to be a two-part conversation.

So this is part one of solutions to the world.

I've actually had this desire to do a podcast series on the world for about a year and just couldn't ever get to it. I could never

fit it into my schedule and that I could never get it into everyone else's

schedule and you know then one thing leads to another and we're

off to a boot camp or suddenly it's something else and and then we finally did get to it

this spring I have just been amazed at how difficult it is to get clarity on this.

One, it's just been really hard to coordinate everyone's schedule, trying get this going and then once we get in here

feeling like I know we have something to say and I don't remember what it was.

Yeah John for me going through this series it's been fascinating and one of the kind of convictions is the world is much with us in this sense of, man, in some ways it feel like we've taken all this ground and we're living in the kingdom right and in other ways just see the

vulnerability and just and confess like boy the world is so much in us and when I say in us I don't I mean in our

culture in our atmosphere in our community in our life

right yeah and it's just and then going back to John 1430 when Jesus

says that the prince of the world is coming and he has no hold on me.

It's this idea of the enemy could not find a place in Jesus.

In other words, the world was simply not in him. So I have great hope, but it has been fought for.
