Matthew chapter 13, verses 18 through 23.

This is Jesus' explanation of the parable of the sower.

He says, hear then the parable of the sower.

When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, so just let that phrase

stick in your mind. This whole parable is about the word of the kingdom, God's word of God's kingdom.

When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what has been sown in his heart.

So the evil one snatches away the Word of God. And this is what was sewn along the path.

As for what was sewn on rocky ground, this is the one who hears the Word, the Word of the Kingdom,

and immediately receives it with joy.

Yet he has no root in himself, but endures for a while. And when tribulation or persecution arises

on account of the word, immediately he falls away. So there's people who hear the word joyfully,

but when they face hard times, when gets hard they fall away as for what was

sewn among thorns this is the one who hears the word the word of the kingdom but the cares of the

world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word and it proves unfruitful what a phrase god's word

the word of an everlasting kingdom choked out by the cares of the

world and the deceitfulness of riches. And then verse 23 says, as for what was sown on good soil,

this is the one who hears the word, hears the word of the kingdom and understands it. He indeed bears fruit and yields,

in one case a hundredfold, and another 60 and another 30. This whole parable revolves around

how we respond to the word of the kingdom, to God's word, the king's words to us. And there's a lot we could talk

about with this parable, but very simply, I want to encourage you today to hear God's word

and receive it and live according to it and ask God to bear the fruit of His Word in your life today,
