If you've been with us the last few weeks, you know,'ve been on a journey to the cross as we pause to look at some specific names of Jesus.

Throughout this Lenton season, we've gotten to know him better through Nancy's teaching series called The Wonder of His Name.

Here she is with the next name in the series.

Well, this weekend we're going to be celebrating Palm Sunday,

and that reminds us of another important name of Jesus

that we want to look at today.

The wonder of his name, his many names tell us so much about who he is

and what he does and why he came and we worship him

for these many wonderful names. But I want to take a moment to look at one of the gospel accounts

of the triumphal entry into Jerusalem that we celebrate as Palm Sunday. I'm looking at John

chapter 12, the gospel of John, chapter 12, beginning in verse 12.

The next day, the large crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem.

Now Jerusalem is in Judah, the kingly tribe, and Jerusalem is known as the city of the great king.

So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out, Hosanna.

Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the king of Israel.
