continue to deteriorate following the disastrous U.S. exit from Afghanistan in August.

The Taliban claims they will respect women, but so far have taken away the majority of secondary schools for girls, stopped women from working and restricted women from traveling alone, among other oppressive limitations.

Iranian journalist and activist Masi Alinajad says that she has seen this all before in Iran, and the oppression and discrimination continues decades later.

She joins me now for her untold story.

Masi, it's always good to talk to you.

And, you know, I'm sure this is a situation where you wish that you were wrong about what

we expected to happen after we left Afghanistan.

Yeah, you remember?

You remember I told you even in your interview from the beginning when I said that this is a betrayal from Biden administration, I was so upset that some of the journalists and some of the activists actually saying that wait for, you know, a little bit to see which part of the Taliban would come in power, maybe the moderate part of the Taliban.

And I was like, no, we have seen this movie before.

Taliban and Islamic Republic, they don't have moderate face.

And this is now heartbreaking when you see that, yes, I was right.

And women are the most, you know, like, you know that women are suffering first.

I'm not saying that they're not going to put pressure on men.

Men are getting beheaded.

The professor of university get arrested.

Men are getting killed as well.
