Welcome back to making the argument. We have a very special guest today because we have an issue that we need to discuss that, quite frankly, has become more and more controversial, but also more and more pressing. As we see what's going on in Europe, as you see what's going on in the UK with their immigration issues, we've noticed that there's some differences between the immigration issues within the United States. Both areas are suffering

0:23.7

some of the penalties for what we call unregulated mass immigration. But there's a different

0:29.8

component to what we're seeing in the Europe and UK. And that is the degree to which people from

0:36.4

Islamic countries are immigrating. And it's caused us to start

0:39.7

to ask some really important questions about cultural integration. Does the country have a right

0:45.1

to protect its culture, the culture that has led to its founding and identified it for decades,

0:51.5

sometimes centuries? Or do we need to be more multicultural? And if so,

0:56.7

which cultures are compatible with what we might call Western values and which ones are not,

1:02.7

or maybe in some cases, openly hostile to them? So with me today to discuss this issue,

1:08.5

specifically as it relates to Islam. We have none other than

1:12.5

God Saad, who has done an incredible amount of work on a variety of fields from evolutionary

1:17.9

behavior to economics, to marketing. And it is our pleasure to have him here today on making

1:24.5

the argument. Thank you very much for being here, sir. Pleasure to be with you. Thank you.

1:28.4

Okay. Well, let's jump right into it. I grew up for as long as I can remember. I've been

1:35.0

told that when it comes to the United States, immigrants built our country and diversity is our

1:39.6

strength. And if I have any questions whatsoever about people coming from very different cultures,

1:45.7

well, that makes me, if not racist or xenophobic, also un-American.

1:51.3

And more and more people like me are starting to question this narrative.

1:54.7

And it's not that we don't understand that a country can benefit from immigration.

1:58.6

I certainly believe that's true.

2:00.4

And it's not that I don't

2:01.1

think that other cultures out there have something interesting and unique to offer. But when I look at
