Today's tip is to indulge in your favorite treats every once in a while.

Keeping them as treats can actually maximize your enjoyment of them.

If abundance is the enemy of appreciation they write, scarcity may be our best ally.

They dubbed this insight the wisdom of candy corn. You can probably guess why.

Candy corn is available for just a few weeks each year.

In October, it's a treat. The rest of the year, well you'll just

have to look forward to the next Halloween season to enjoy candy corn again.

It's like peppermint ice cream and eggnog in December, or McDonald's Mick Rib sandwiches whenever those appear.

These treats are wildly successful because they are available for just a limited time.

You may have heard your grandparents describe getting oranges in their stockings at Christmas.

Now we can grab an orange whenever.

So it goes.

But that excitement is kind of fun. So how can we apply the wisdom of candy corn in our own lives?
