For the past few months, besides the day job, I've spent pretty much all my time trying

to get my head round, what went wrong with the Brexit negotiations and talking to people

here in Westminster and Whitehall, and over there are unusually two in Brussels.

I say unusually, because what's extraordinary about this story that has dominated so

much of the news, so much of politics for so long, is that the people on the other side

of the negotiations have done almost no interviews at all.

Take Michel Barnier, a figure we've got used to hearing and seeing, he's got these very

carefully prepared sound mics, the swath, Frenchman who's the EU's chief negotiator, talks

about the clock, he's ticking, talks about no cherry picking, but he is very rarely scrutinised

because he has refused to do any interviews, and this documentary interview was the first

one he's done for the British media.

Let me avoid any misunderstanding.

I never try to get and to win.

There is no winner in this negotiation.

Brexit is a loose, loose game.

So sometimes people talk of Britain paying up price for Brexit.

You didn't want Britain to pay up price.

Nobody will have to pay a price.

EU and UK, because there is no added value to Brexit.

Nobody, nobody, until now, has been able to give me the single proof of the added value

of the Brexit even Mr Farage, seated around this table.
