Hello, and welcome to the Byron York Show, the no-chit-chat podcast. We'd like to get right into it.

And what we're going to get right into today is the Biden White House dumpster fire.

I've been writing about this recently and kind of debating with myself what to call it.

I mean, there's certainly a mess in the White House. Is dumpster fire too disrespectful, too strong?

Maybe I should call it something else. There are other names you can't really use in a family

podcast, but what to call it. But I decided to just call it the White House dumpster fire.

And there's two issues involved here that kind of play into each other. And it's really simple.

There's the substance and there's the politics. What the president and his administration

are actually doing, things that really affect people's lives, and the political repercussions

from that. And obviously here in Washington, and I am sitting in Washington, D.C. as we speak,

here in Washington, there's the most talk about the second, about the political repercussions.

So I'm going to start actually with that because here I am. You know, Biden had this big ceremony

on Monday to sign the bipartisan infrastructure bill, $1.2 trillion in spending. By the way,

on top of $1.9 trillion in spending in March, and on top of $900 billion of spending in December when

Biden wasn't president yet, he still wants to spend an additional couple of trillion dollars

on what they call human infrastructure. But anyway, he has this big ceremony to celebrate

the signature of the bipartisan infrastructure bill. And a lot of Democrats had been saying,

you know, especially after this Virginia loss, Glenn Youngkin shows how Republicans can win,

etc. They think, you know, Democrats just need to show the voters that they can do something.

We've got to do something. Well, they did something. They passed this bill. And they thought,

well, that will mean that our approval ratings will go up. So they passed the bill and they

wait for the polls. Well, the polls are even worse. There's a really kind of stunning
