the scenes of the Whips Office. In this episode I speak to Mark Harper who in 2015 became the first

chief whip in a conservative majority government for 18 years. I joined him in his Commons

office where drinking out of his favorite chief whip mug he insisted the job was nothing like House of Cards.

I began by asking him if ensuring discipline was made easier by having a slim toy majority,

or if it was better when his party could rely on the Lib Dems to get their laws passed.
