I want to start off with a sort of There Will Be Blood type chat.

You see that movie, Donald Day Lewis and the oil spitting all over his face and stuff.

Paul Dano, just a remarkable performance in that.

Right, exactly.

When the United States just toppled dictators before, right, it's always sort of framed its actions in moral terms, or it sort of tried to in public.

Usually it was like at least the subtext, if not like the covert thing is we're going to get some stuff for ourselves here.

Right.

People used to say Iraq was about oil, but the administration was like, we're going in to save the world from WMD, and we're going in because we're going to bring democracy to the Middle East.

And like in Panama, when they got with Noriega, they brought in democracy.

Donald Trump is not talking like that.

He's talking about oil.

And last night, he announces on Truth Social that he is getting the administration that he is

essentially now allowing to be in place.

He's giving America 30 to 50 million barrels of oil, which he is

going to sell on the market. We've said this before, but we've never really seen America act

explicitly like this, not in our lifetimes, not for a very long time. Do you think the public are

okay with this? Do you think Congress is okay with this? Well, I think it could go a couple of different ways. And there is a

world in which some parts of MAGA and the Republican Party are like, well, you know, at least
