And today's topic was one that one person in particular asked me to do an episode on.

And it's been kind of, I would say, a similar theme from a lot of other people who've reached out.

And I think it was, I know I did a podcast episode on this a few years ago, but I think

it's worth revisiting.

And it's the concept of shame and identity.

And it's interesting, I think, with physical conditions,

broken bone, high blood pressure, migraines.

There doesn't seem to be as much shame because it's, I don't know if it's because

it's more commonplace.

It's something that's more observable.

But when it comes to mental health,

one of the reasons,

one of the main reasons of doing the podcast

was, you know, to, in a lot of ways,

directly try to confront this and help to eliminate shame.

But it's, shame is really structurally embedded in the psyche.

And it's important to understand that shame is not

embarrassment. It's not guilt. It's not regret because shame doesn't just make you feel

bad about something you did. It really rewrites the narrative of who we believe that we are. And I think

once that happens and once the mind crosses that threshold, you're no longer dealing with a symptom.
