Would you open your copy of the Word of God with me to the Gospel According to Matthew, to Matthew chapter number nine?

Some time ago, I was reading through the Gospel according to Matthew in my own devotional time.

And I came to Matthew chapter 9 and the chapter just captivated me.

In fact, I've just been meditating on it and letting the Lord use it in my own soul,

and I hope God will use it in your soul today.

Matthew 9 is a chapter that reveals to us the power of Christ.

And I'll say more about this in the next hour, but there is no power

like the power of our Christ. And Matthew 9 is an illustration of that. Look with me. Let's just

read a little bit starting in verse number one. The Bible says, and he entered into a ship and passed over

and came into his own city.

Now, you remember, Bethlehem was the city of his birth,
