There is no substitute for the preaching and teaching of God's Word. Each weekday on

enjoying the journey, Scott Pauley leads us in a brief study of Scripture. Today, on the

weekend pulpit, we are happy to share a full-length Bible message given through Scott's

Now, there's several like that, but there is one that I don't know that I've ever heard anybody say.

That's my favorite book of the Bible, but I must tell you, it is becoming quickly one of my favorite Old Testament books of the Bible but I must tell you it is becoming quickly one of my

favorite Old Testament books of the Bible it is found in the section we call at the end of the

Old Testament the minor prophets there are 12 of those and they're not minor in importance all

God's word has a major message for us they're called the minor prophets because of their size

they're smaller than the others.

And this particular one is filled both with prophecy and with story, and both of it has something

for us. I want you to open your copy of the Word of God with me, if you will, this morning,

to the book of Jonah in your Old Testament scriptures, to Jonah chapter number one. Now, there are only four chapters in the little book of Jonah in your Old Testament scriptures to Jonah chapter number one now there are only

four chapters in the little book of Jonah you can read through the entire book in a very short amount

of time and I want to encourage you to do that not while I'm preaching but on your own time

try to read through it this week I'm going to live in Jonah for the next three days, and I'm going to ask you to do the same.

Maybe you're devotional reading through a certain portion of Scripture right now.

Keep that up.

That's great.

But I'm going to ask you if you will spend some time this week reading, meditating, praying through,

studying the book of Jonah with me for the next three days because I'm convinced that Jonah,
