I'm going to take you to a book of the Bible that we typically do not go to when we talk about family, and we are going to study it together for the next three mornings in every session.

It is the last thing that Paul ever wrote under inspiration of the Holy Spirit,

the last recorded book that Paul wrote before he was taken to be with Jesus. I want you to open

your Bible with me to the book of 2nd Timothy, if you will. And I must be honest with you that through

the years in family conferences and

marriage retreats and special meetings on the home, I've given a lot of attention to what Paul

said in all of his other books. For example, did you know Paul wrote a lot to the church at

Corinth about marriage and family and home life. And there's a reason for that

because Corinth was a church that was situated in a very wicked place and they were dealing with

lots of whirliness even inside the church. I was driving somewhere the other day preaching and I passed

a church and looked at the church sign and it was called Corinth Baptist Church. And I thought to myself of all the New Testament churches

to use the name, I don't think that's the one I would pick, you know? Maybe Philippi, let's have a

happy Baptist church, amen to that, or a Colossi Baptist Church, let's be complete in Christ.

But when I think Corinth,
