This is Scott Pauley, and we are examining for a few days, current questions and Bible answers.

Now, all last week, we laid a little foundation, a framework for our study,

and the fact that we all have questions, questions aren't going away, we have to know what to do

with them, and ultimately we must come to the Word of God to find the answers, answers for us

and answers for others. Today, I want to deal with one that really goes to the issue of origins.

And it is this question that has been submitted from a listener, is abortion really a Bible issue?

Now, this is a hot button topic today because so many people want to say this is a political issue.

Friends, abortion is not a political issue.

It is really a spiritual issue. And in fact, it is a scriptural issue. Some people will say, well,

that's preference. No, no. I'm going to show you from the Word of God. This is not about what you think, or I think,

it's about what God says. Some people might argue, well, that's really a legal matter, or they

might even go so far as to say it's a moral matter. Could I remind you that the laws of a society

and the mores of a society always change. They always shift. There is one thing that

does not, and that is God's law. That is the word of God. So to answer the question today,

is abortion really a Bible issue? I want to give three statements and a number of scriptures.

May I begin with one today that I think is just so beautiful from

Psalm 139. David writes, beginning in verse number 13, to the Lord, for thou hast possessed my reins.

Thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Marvelous are thy works, and that my soul knoweth right well.

My substance was not hid from thee when I was made in secret and curiously wrought in the
