Welcome to our Rosary meditation all the way from the mountains in Colorado.

We've had a fantastic day of hiking.

And now we're gonna pray the Rosary together.

So I wanna offer this Rosary for the very generous couple

who allows us to stay in their home

and have this glorious time together as a family. So let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit and

let's call to mind all those that we've promised to pray for.

Now, how did we get to this point in the world in which the basic concepts of right and wrong or the foundational truths of the family and society were rejected.

Where has this chaos come from?

The second question is, what should we do about it?

Now we are all in relationships with people who don't necessarily accept

objective truth. This meditation is designed to help you understand where they're coming from so that you can be better situated to help them.

So let me explain 500 years of philosophy and political thought in five brief points to see where this crazy, where the crazy ideas of today originated.

Okay, five thinkers, one for each decade.

We begin in the 16th century with Machiavelli and a book called The Prince, which is a book on leadership and power.

Now essentially, Machiavelli says a successful leader must learn to not do good.

Yes, you heard me correctly.

A successful leader must make efforts to deceive, to be ruthless, duplicitous, and give the appearance of virtue,

but establish deeper levels of vice.

According to his thought, you can use evil to bring about your goals.
