Once upon a time, a little girl and her brother were playing by a well.

When their ball fell into the well, they tried to fetch it with the girl riding down on the bucket and her brother holding the rope.

But they were too heavy, and the bucket dropped straight down. The little girl

held on for dear life and her brother was pulled down too. A water nix, a mischievous,

shape-shifting creature, saw them and trapped them in her watery worlds down below.

I have been waiting a long time for someone to fall down the well.

Now you are mine and you shall do my bidding.

The Waterniks said as she carried them from the bottom of the well to her cave beneath the sea.

She made the little girl do all her sewing and fetch water in a bucket with a hole in it every day.

And the boy had to cut down the seed trees,

but the axe was not sharp enough,
